Brian Tilker, recognized by Best Lawyers, focuses his practice on complex commercial and business disputes, including employment disputes. Mr. Tilker represents individuals, businesses, and associations in mediations, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and civil actions involving a wide range of issues across a variety of sectors. He also assists clients with formulating strategies, policies, and processes to help resolve disputes before they turn into full-blown litigation, as well as to avoid disputes altogether. While Mr. Tilker’s litigation practice is broad-based, he has dedicated a substantial portion of his practice to representing Hawai‘i condominium and planned community associations, as well as Hawai‘i health care providers, in complex litigation matters. Mr. Tilker has obtained favorable outcomes for clients at the administrative, trial court, and appellate level, and has argued before both state and appellate courts.
Mr. Tilker moved to Hawai‘i in 2011, after practicing in New York for approximately seven years. He previously served as a Lecturer of Law for the William S. Richardson School of Law and currently serves on the boards of both the Litigation Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association and Guide Dogs of Hawaii, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting the visually impaired. In 2023, Brian was appointed to serve as a lawyer delegate for a three-year term to Hawaii’s annual United States District Court Judicial Conference.
